Hi- My mtDNA is also H10e1. It comes from my 4th great-grandmother Ann McCulley, born 1786 in Armagh, Northern Ireland. SHe came to the USA with her husband, David Birmingham, prior to the birth of their daughter in New Jersey in 1811. They all ended up in southern Ontario, Canada.
It looks like these Irish roots line up with your family names. There is a family story that she was Catholic and he was Protestant, but I don't know if that was true. Susan
Also, the blue-and-white teapot pictured beside my name was hers. We use it when Christening an oldest daughter of an oldest daughter. It was used for me and for my daughter, my mother, her mother and so forth. Most of the time it just contains photos of us.
Ardella McCarty Bailey was my great Grandmother> My Grandmother was Alma E Bailey. I knew them all and we all lived on same street> on Eagle Mountain Lake in Azel Texas. Except Grand Pa Bailey He passed when I was a baby.
My Name is Rita And yes stories please. I will say It bothers me a little about the different spelling of Ardella's name R Della and Ron Della. My aunt Ardell was named after her.I guess I could be wrong but don't think so. Even her death certificate. I think people wrote the name the way it sounded on paper and it stuck. Then again I called her Big Granny. My Grandmother was Little Granny. Aunt Irene spent a lot of time with us kids, Bobbie Bailey and I became close years later. He worked at a shelter that I collected donations for. I am glad you have him and Bill as Irene's sons even though they lived with their Grandparents for a few years. I was also sorry to find out Dewight C passed. I knew him too. Okay stories now. Thank you
What is your dad's name?
ReplyDeleteBilly Bailey
